The server has been updated and restarted at 12:00pm June 1st. Our goal is to keep it up and lag free as long as possible. Maybe we'll go the entire month meaning 720 hours of uptime!

Just two quick updates

1) I apologize for the server downtime today. I restarted the server while @ work and got bombarded by customers and forgot to restart the login server as well. The downtime wasn't due to a crash or hackers, but just my pure stupidity.

2) Lag problems should be gone. The source of the lag was tracked down to a spammer using a critical flaw in one of my mailer CGI scripts which he was using to send millions of spams a day. Anyways it wasn't the easiest thing to track down, but the security hole has been fixed thanks to an updated version of the mailer and should no longer be an issue.

Finally June is nearly upon us. This month with carry special focus and direction. The entire month I shall be focusing on keeping the server functioning smoothly and running quests. You will want to participate as some of those new monsters we added via version 3.0 will start appearing.

My goal is to host 2 large quests similar in length to the Dark Elf quest and the server status page displaying a minimum of 400 hours of uptime which is approximately 17 days without a crash. Hopefully we won't have a power outage *crosses fingers*

Once again I apologize for the recent lag but spammers are notorious and hopefully June will be the most fun yet in the world of Obsidian!

Please reply to this post if consistent lag returns. Consistent meaning longer then a 30 minute time period.

Thx
