A friend of mine have had some trouble with his comp so he had to format his drives. Now when he is trying to install Obsidian with the full installer he gets this msg, what could be wrong and how do he fix it?

I know it's obvious as the sky is usually blue, but I have to say it. Maybe the download didn't work right... Did he try downloading it again?

I know that as well and he knows it, so he dl it again didn't work then another time same thing. Got a link from another friend so he could to dl from a different place same thing, and I can't figure out how to help him so I thought I'll post and perhaps someone could give me a good advice on what to do. And who knows for all I know it might be some error in the installer if it has been updated recently even though I don't think so.

so I would appricate a better advice other then " the obvious as the sky is useally blue" as u put it :)

a couple of longshots that might work:

if winamp is installed try uninstalling it first

try disabling antivirus

try downloading and installing the program which the obs installer is made with (NSIS=Nullsoft Scriptable Install System)

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... e_id=15374

If none of the above helps you could always try installing it without the crc check if you know the installer is perfectly fine
(start->run-> installer \ncrc)

From dos prompt I've tried "obsidian_t3a.exe/ncrc" and it doesn't skip the crc check; why is this?

EDIT: it is case-sensitive :)..
"obsidian_t3a.exe/NCRC" worked.
