Hey guys, for all you who are interested. outz has decided to run an Obsidian-wide Ultima Online Auto Map sever.

What this means is, for all you who want, can download UOAM, and log in. When you log in, you'll be able to see everyone else who is logged in, this will help wether you're a pvper, or wether you want to AVOID pkers.

Either way, here's the info for when you get into UOAM, and a direct link to download UOAM at.

Direct link for UOAM download: http://uoam.net/setup.exe

(Click "Link" at the top, then "Link Controls" to get to this menu)

Username: (insert name here)
IP: borg.outz.com
Port: 2000
Password: obsidian (all lowercase)

Be sure to click "Link to Server" and not "Start Server"

And you will have to calibrate (click on your uoam, click "uo" at the top, then "calibrate") your UOAM to show your position, for this you need to use a sextant. There is one located on the EAST side of Britain bank, where the etching tool used to be.

PS - If any guilds would like a private server for their guild. Please PM Hydro in the forums, or contact him as outz on IRC with your info.

What about players entering a fake username ?? Is this gona be illegal ? If it's not it's open season for a pk.Can a wanabe pk login see where people are logout then pk ?
Another thing players need to be aware that outz "Obs staff" and all other players can see the chat text and outz can be invis I belive.Not that I have anything to hide but players need to know the pro's and con's ...

I'd imagine that if this UOAM server catches on. He will do something about nicknames.

I'd imagine people can use any username they want... but I hope they do not start pretending to be other players, otherwise I will just block their IP from UOAM. Don't think of this as anything 'official' just doing a little test to see how it goes. If you would rather just have a private one for your guild, let me know and I can arrange that as well... also, I don't think I can be invis? I've never connected to UOAM, I just run the server software for it.

Dont get me wrong Hydro I aint knocking the idea, but it's wideopen to abuse and prolly will be exploited. I think a guild or even a friends map is a great alternitive. LoV use auto map and I find it invaluble. I just think it would be hard to police a map for the whole shard.

Private servers are great. It's just cool to have one for everyone, so say you have 2 guilds who agree to war. They can then track each other, and make it more interesting.

It's an option to go in there, it's not like we're forcing you to..

Go to the top, click on "Map" then go down and select "UO Client data files location" then select the file path where your Obsidian is located. Should be something like C:/program files/games or something

Hmm, tis a cool thing. People have talked about something like this for a long time, course i seem to remember a lot of opposition to it... But since its opt-in that could be awesome... Definitely will need to be very closely watched for abuse. Its actually good we aint got 100 people on at one time.. That would make this whole thing very wierd..
