during a random act of kindness. i was given a house deed wich i placed near the minoc mines. (a little to the right of the tents.) i locked the door with the produced key and went to the bank to procure my belongings for transfer. when i got to the house (with the key in my back pack) it would not open, and gave me the message "you need a key to use this door" weird thing is, with the key that is in my back pack, i can lock and unlock the door, but it will not open. it just gives me that enfuriating message. is this a bug? seriously, this bites.....

You have a master key that you use to lock things down and use it on
door to make it open to public or not. Make an in-game "openDoor"
macro and use that.
Might want to read through Housing section at http://outz.com/guide/ too.

read through the housing section of that guide, and it does mention the in game door macro. But you'll have to excuse my ignorance, on macros, because even though it is mentioned, it gives no instruction as to setting one up.

There's a half assed one at the end of "1st char". K, more like a mention
of macros.. :o
Click ADD, choose a Hotkey, action from a drop down menu (there's a
bunch, it'll scroll down if you move pointer to the bottom). Click Apply.

door keys suck tho when you got like 6 houses and your trying all your keys trying to find out which ones go to what house lol. Just more convenient to have a macro.

Or what I tried to do. I put them all in a bag or in my pack in a nice neat row. Then on the computer, by typing in notepad, I put what key goes to wat house, and where it was placed in the bag.

You can make a Door Key at any time, however going back to openDoor
macro ain't that easy (without GM intervention). I'd rather he play a little,
get to know how's what before doing smth stupid like that.
Had couple own houses replaced at a time just to use openDoor macro
again. That's how much Door Keys suck.
Only reason I can think of for Door Key usage is if you wanna give access
to someone you don't trust completely. And how often does that happen..
Bet only Door Key users die on their doorstep cause of stalkers.

I always thought that even if you die, your keys will stay on u. So y would he worry about Pkers killing him and taking his keys away?

I mean when ppl stalk your house invis you're more likely to get caught
and killed if you're using a Door Key. With macro you can run through
almost without stopping.

if to run fast into house with a doubledoors is a bit hard to open just one door with macro then to close it with macro without opening the other one. but if only one door open door macro is great!

I have a three room with the doubledoors, I just used the door key on one of the doors so it wont open with the macro- you only need one door to open anyhow lol.

Blah....i usually just prayed to BB no fuking Pker was around. But the only ones u really had to worry about were BM, usually stayed at bridge with the rest of his group, and Ashes, who tended to shout I KILL CRAFTERS, so he wasnt that big of a threat. lol. Unless outside, then he fked u up a little.
