Ever since I downloaded the new patch, when I would be playing obsidian about 5-6 errors would popup all of the sudden on the bottom of my screen. Saying "Obsidian patcher is not responding" blah blah blah. It causes lag when I exit out of them but does not cause me to crash or anything. Also, my computer's cooling fan i guess has been louder and louder since the patch.

another thing, once I'm finish playing obsdiain and try to logon another shard, the client pops up real fast and closes. So i do ctrl alt del, and see that there are 4 obsidian patchers up, I close all of them and everything runs smoothly. I think this needs to be fixed, its very annoying =\

Yeah the patcher has developed old age issues. It is going to be replaced.
The new one is awesome, eats butterflies and craps rainbows.
So be excited and wait.

I remember a couple of years ago friends and co-workers started asking me if their new computers had something wrong with them since the fans sometimes started humming louder.
The short answer is: the hotter they get the more air they try to move.
In our (Obs) case, it's probably the multiple instances of the (soon to be old) patcher.exe running (or trying to run) and causing your PC to heat up and then it kicking it's fans up a notch to compensate.
