I'm using dial up for my internet games and I have satellite for my every day web use.

As it is now, as soon as I connect to dial up all of my internet traffic uses dial up bandwidth. It's as though my satellite connection is not ever there. If there is a glitch in my satellite connection (or I reset my router) then my computer picks up that there is a satellite connection and ignores my dial-up connection.

I'm looking for a way to have the bandwidth from my dial-up connection only used for obsidian, and the bandwidth from the satellite connection used for everything else.

Any of you technically savvy folks have any suggestions that do not involve a second computer?

there is a conflict with the connection since ur Satellite connection give u specific IP adress and if u try to connect the Dial Up its a diferent IP adress and since ur dial up its more stable.

unless your ok with using mng-connection applications like these ones (idk how expanding those are and doesent think that whats your looking for tho)

i think you need to write a script thats get runned each time a new process is started, allowing only obsidian.exe to get reroute to the dial-up connection interface, think this could be done rather easy if you were using any linux OS. In windows i have no idea on howto,, or if possible.

another easier way might be just to block obsi traffic in some firewall on the satellite connection only, and set satellite to preferred connection overall.. dunno what will happen then but might work? Cant help much rly im not on windows myself :/

as far as i know u cant have 2 connections open in windows

yea, you get one ip for each connection, but understood it like he wanted to connect to obsidian via dial-up connection & everything else via satellite (to get the most bandwidth to obsi i guess?)

i know but u cant do that in windows because of the IP issues, the only way to have 2 IPs is getting 2 network cards, but that does mean u can have 2 different conexions, in linux well its a hole world of good stuffs
