I'm in brit looking for a horse... looked at all 3 stables which were unattended. Anyone know where the rides npc is in brit or where the nearest one might be?

They took them out.
That way you have to buy one from a tamer or make a tamer yourself.

A vendor would be nice to have for rides. Sometimes you need one fast. Perhaps just change the price to something like 5k per so that they are not used in stead of player tamer chars. I would also make it so the animal is not shrunken when bought as this would increase the value.

Hmm... why all the limitations on rides? What's the matter with just going to JimmyNPCTamer and picking up a cheap horse that's going to abandon you in a day for 200gp? If i have to pay $5k for a plain horse, fuggetaboutit. I'll just have to work on upping my taming.

At one time ride vendors werent needed, all you had to do was go to vesper bank and ask around. Sometimes tamers would even bring rides to the bank to sell there. I believe it was taken out to give tamers a chance to make some money. All the other shards i have been on where there was vendors the rides were severly underpriced anyway and a tamer would not even bother going out to find rides for the price they were selling for.

Yup, that's my understanding of them not being around anyways. Makes it worthwhile having/training a tamer.

And if you look after your ride it's not gunna leave you in a day. I've had the same rides pretty much since I started. I've lost one or two due to an old bug that used to happen once in a while but I've not seen or heard of it for a quite a while (most likely fixed in recent upgrades) :)

And as for 5k for a horse? I think 1-2k is more reasonable atm whilst people are still broke...The way I've always thought of it is - The quicker you can move, the quicker you make cash :)

So true, for 200gp I'm not going to waste my time. But if your looking for a ride, I can get you horses for 2k or llamas for 1k.

To keep your ride from leaving you, just keep it fed and log out while riding it.

And to add to Tax's wisdom, the quicker you can move the faster you can get out of a tight spot.

Far too many rides spawning right now. You can't take a walk anywhere without seeing 4 or 5 horses or llamas on the way. It is pretty hard to sell any rides when anyone can just get their buddy's tamer to tame like 5 of them.
