Ditto I'm running windows XP (same as before) and I'm getting alot of lag. I'll have a look and see if it's anything on my end. Hopefully that's the case lol.

The Lag is do to the NPC and Wild Life out and about.. A lot of things need to be configured still in this game. Removing the laggage is on the list but not at a high part of it . I guess. .. Eventually one day... it may get fixed but i guess races are more important than gameplay right now.

still getting alot of lag.. the other day we were like 3 ppl online and i got huge lag... and i was just using the obsidian client, not downloading or uploading anything else

The lag is getting worse. The freezes last longer, and they are more frequent, IMO.

I would think this would be at the top of the list.

I wonder if this lag has anything to do with the new security measures that this client is supposed to have.

Aye that's kinda how it feels sometimes, as if I where downloading something. Makes crafting a little irritating & hunting risky. Lapse of concentration = dead. Tis looking a little wide spread amonst user's no matter their setup

In normal client lag when your computer finally catches up with the server you will sometimes do a bunch of things all at once....this lag is not like that. The lag seams to be at the same pace as the server....when the lag is over, there's no catch-up...everything goes on like nothing happened.

Tells me that it's the server freezing up, and not our connections.

well if more then one ppl is getting the same issues is not about our connections its some server issues

Yeah, gonna look into it more with broadband next time i can get his attention.

It's not the shard(the program itself), so people who are saying it's npc lag or the server is thinking or whatnot, you're wrong. I doublechecked it when we did the connection modifications last week. It might be the line it's hooked up via or something else going rogue on the network. Hopefully we'll figure more out when i can catch broadband

The other reason i can say for sure it's not the shard is that inefficient shit is a huge pet peeve of mine when dealing with computers, so i refuse to let anything that isn't 90% efficient touch the production server. (In programming, each algorithm has a theoretical minimum and maximum computation time, so getting within 5-10% of the minimum is the goal. Usually that last 5-10% takes way too much time to achieve to make it worthwhile when there is other stuff to do).

The server doesn't come close to using up the physical resources of the machine hosting it even when stresstested with 200 connections (50 in each major town).
