Bob, if you get this while your looking at crafting patch, has there been any thought on cooking? iv ecooked past my limit on fish steaks and ribs and any other food i can find...i simply cant gain anymore. if there is some new weird way like mixing ingredients or something , please tell me. i cooked like 300 forgetfull fish a while ago ..no gains..and im only at 64.something.so i should get good gains off those. my opinion is that old way for cooking might be the only way..fishing was hard enough as it was and trying to get and collect all the steaks was time consuming enough to justify cooking them to gm but not being "too easy"
just my opinion...and im not cooking all my stat fish to see if i get gains :) lol

im gm cooking already but i really do think its better the older way

OR
make gming cooking and gains and stuff alot easier cuz u cant be a chef by boiling a billion hot dogs... but then again its easy learning how to cook/// specially the same 5 fish LOL
cuz that part of the game cant be completely realistic, no matter how many times u fry it isnt gonna make it so u learn how to cook other things or cook that chicken in a different way. so i think the old way or make shit alot easier

this post was made when i was tired... SO excuse the bad grammar that u woulda probably found if i was perfectly awake also :)

So true. I'm at 73.? cooking and can't get a cooking gain. Even after cooking hundreds of fff or stat fish. I sure hope this can be adjusted.

There is no current way to gain cooking, and it's been suggested that everyone who is above 55% skills gets their cooking reduced by 3/4th. This means GM cooks get 75% skill.

The reason is as it is now everyone who gm'd cooking (pretty much without exception) did so on fish steaks. And while i do understand how much time you put in clicking the stupid little things, it does make the skill a rather 0-effort skill, considering most people macroed (afk or ak).

By reducing it slightly, as well as adding in an actual cooking system ( as opposed to making it a required skill to not burn fish), this will make it worth mroe and actually be of merit to characters. Also if you haven't noticed, cooking a fish takes VERY LITTLE skill, and has been changed to reflect that in-game when t4a went in.

Anyway this is all ideas that have been thrown around, we'll see how it ends up when it's nearer to the cooking patch comming out. But as it stands now, there is no way to gm the skill, however you will gain more than enoguh skill off of fish to be able to cook fish.

For the record...

I would prefer not having my cooking skill reduced to 54.

Are you saying that you are want to lower peoples cooking skill because they may have macroed it? Because if that is what you are saying I say absolutely not. Whether you think macroing is earning a skill or not many people have invested a lot of time and money training it and that is just unacceptable IMO.

bob i dont thing that should be a good idea, i know that u try to make soem changes but unable to Gm cooking just cus u feel someone dont deserve to be gm cus some guys gm macroing is not ok.

its like saying that u cant GM magery right now cus alot of ppl who r gm macro magery before to get it.

for the record... gm cooking looks easy but is NOT and u need to fish ALOT to get enough steaks to train,
it does make the skill a rather 0-effort skill
ur wrong clicking 1 by 1 i feel is enough effort u know that to gm cooking from 50-100 skill % u need around 10-15k of steaks ( aprox what i need to gm with the old system )

u lucky cuz i got to i think 75 or 80 cooking all sorts of fish (small fish gave me the best gains) then i found out about macro programs and it took me 11k fish steaks from that point lmao

but ya, chips wouldnt be very happy, if the only skill i really worked on and followed and finished up on was lowered, i would go crazy,,,

What you cooked is pretty irelevent really it is the time and the money it took to gm it. Some people bought huge amounts of fish steaks others fished and took the time to cut every fish that they caught like I did. The point is macroing is not and never was illegal and to penalize someone because one person doesn't think they earned it is rediculous.

I hope you aren't just looking for yet ANOTHER way to piss older players off...

Delete all their gold...
Server down for long periods of time...
Terrible lag when back online...
Deal with bugs and rollbacks...
Deal with NO player base...
Deal with no staff online when bugs happen that screw them over...
Deal with constant re-tooling of years-old concepts and systems...

And to think that actually LOWERING skills on some players would actually be considered is kinda sickening.

First cooking then what? Magery? Carpentry? Poisoning? Healing?
Most skills are harder to train now...so my suggestion is to fix things how you like and leave the innocent player base alone. How does lowering a skill of someone else help someone currently training a skill?

I realize that it is just a suggestion, but if it becomes a reality that this would happen, expect a mass exodus of the remaining players to a more player friendly shard. This is not the only shard around.

Ciao

I don't like the idea of my cooking being lowered from GM. I worked hard to get it there, and just looking at my character and seeing "100" is a feeling of accomplishment.

On the other hand, if cooking will act the same at 75 after the patch as it did at 100 before the patch......and the new 100 will give us some some new kind of ability...I guess I can see the reasoning.

If there's not a reason for it other then because you think some people might have macroed it.....OR....if there is no new ability...OR....there is noticeable change between the current GM and the proposed new skill level...then NO WAY would this be a good idea.
