I like the idea of bounties. It's highly exploitable, but if there was a way to make it work, it's better then stat loss.

yes a bounty system would be nice, i think to make it unexploitable the money should come out of the reds bank account. or something. and the person who kills the PK should choose to loot him OR collect the bounty

a bounty would be cool. i agree with chemi on stat loss. i dont think anything should happen to someone in town, penalty wise. its fun having all popl there to talk to and mess with. besides you loss 750 gold or time everytime someone calls guards on you anyway. i think a kill wipe should happen and you should not be able to even report a murder in town. most fighting there is just for fun anyway...plus you cant loot. so the only hit is for karma..no biggie there. and if your not afk and dont want to lose karma ...just log. loggers suck ...but that is your choice:)

come to think of it i like the whole island idea,
would be tons of work for the GMs tho, lol i have ran accross that in other games and YA that is a hella a punishment for reds O gosh, rather to harsh imo

but why must reds be punished more again? where did this come from?
blues have the advantage why make the advantage more steep?
also obsidian is free world type of MMO meaning people are lootable to the fullest and its TOTally up to the winner, so there shouldnt be many disadvantages item wise to picking a player path karma wise besides the way NPCs react to you. specially seeing the karma system isnt near perfect, (with in town duels/people you fought half an hour ago dieing) and many other situations.

maybe the only time you should receive a kill is when you loot someone after you attacked them?. this would eliminate all the intown mistaken kills and all the fun Pvp times outta town

I'm not so sure about not being able to report people in town at all...right now we have a small population, and most of us know each other and don't cause any major grief...but....once the shard start to grow, we will get some major assholes...it's inevitable, and some of them will be griefers abusing the system.

lol...how true. i like chips idea about if you loot. but that can lead to probs too..id be pissed and want someone to have a murder if they killed me somewhere in the middle of mowhere and i had to walk an hour to get somewhere but they didnt loot...lol. so in conclusion, i think just a report system for anywhere would work best ...simple yet practical.

I never used to loot. Never really killed anyone who had something i wanted. I only used to loot the people i didn't like and then trash their stuff in front of them just to be cold. :lol:

Well it would make sense to sell to the npc, that would be how you collect the bounty. You could have a list of the most wanted and how much bounty is offered.

Bounties would be great, but lets say 2 people spent a week killing each other...they would both be red with a ton of kill counts...they could just sell each others head for all the cash they would ever need....

If there was some way to make it less exploitable it would be great.

Severe penalties such as full bank account nuke for anyone caught abusing it might help with that.

well i agree it would be a massive pain in the ass at firt but once a couple of bank accounts get nuked it wont be as bad. Or perhaps there is a different way to keep it from being exploited.

But then they just cash it in on their blue character.

I think the gold would have to come from the pker but then there needs to be some way of ensuring that the pker has the gold to match the bounty. If it was simply the gold in the pkers bank then pkers wouldn't bank their gold. That's been the hurdle for me on this issue.
