there was individual posts about bosses but not together so here goes.

Ive been keeping track of boses and trying to get my first vanq wep in t4a from a drop. this is what ive killed trying to get there:

23 dracholichs
23 skeleten kings
33 wyrms from despise(1 was lord shadow)
2 king goo goos
4 sleletal arch magus's
1 deamon summoner
-----------------------------
86 bosses in total
0 drops

was going to go to 100 bosses but lost interest after lord shadow wyrm.
im not bitching that i havent got a vanq, im bitching becuase i havent gotten ANYTHING!

if i go on a drache, king and wyrm run, i get about 4k.
i know bob said he hasent put in other boss power or watever buttey should drop more often that this....ive put in MOST of my time here in last month trying for this vanq and your damn right i think i should hve gotten at least 4 drops out of oll this killing....all vanq? dont have to be but 2 power 2 vanq maybee.something for the trouble or who is going to go after them?

on side note: I think King goo goo should drop every time, considering i killed one then have been trying to make another for a month straight, and nothing, cant get one made.so if they oly spawn once every month or 2, isay they should drop. of course not 5 vanq or anything but like i said before....something. JUst my thought.

he si not taling about drakes drop
he says boss drop..
if i add the one i killed we are way over 100 boss killed
and got 1 drop out of that..
i beleive boss should drop more then 1% of the time

This is why some of wont hunt anymore drops have goten way bad and nothing has been tweaked. I belive it was said that affter 2 weeks they would be tweaked. And either im wrong or about that or they may have been tweaked either way they need to be looked in to i think.

well, i have an update. nexttime i killed skely king i got a drop...i have finally struck gold....gold armor that is...oh and a blue gorget! LOL

You were 50 points below the threshold for the vanq, and if you break that threshold, it will always drop the vanq first.

That's really shitty luck. For the skeleton king the odds of being below the threshold on a death(currently) are around 8%ish.

As i said before, once the boss patch goes in, and bosses are their proper difficulties, they will drop more gold, more loot, and have a higher drop rate.

Each monster has a difficulty level, that determines how "strong" they are, and in turn how much gold or magic items they drop.
When a monster gets a magic drop, it is assigned an amount of points equal to difficulty level plus or minus some modifications for other variables.
Each monster also gets a random +/- 50% to their points upon death, to allow for a bit of luck and variability in their drops.

It then spends these points to buy magic items from the drop table.
It tries to buy(75% i believe) the most expensive items it can afford first, then moves on down the list.
It only buys one item per pass.

The only exception is if the item is a boss monster and can afford a vanquishing level drop, it will ALWAYS buy those first.
It also will not buy items that are below 2 levels than it's highest drop chance. For example a boss will never drop ruin.

Hope that clears things up. Or at least enouh for you to start figuring out the rest on your own. :P

EDIT: Superceded as of 4-15-2020. NPCS buy the most expensive thing they can every pass, and every pass adds a multiplier to cost. No limit how "low" they can buy with their remaining gold, so bosses can now drop ruins if they bought out everything they could afford higher.
