im pretty sure the old players just want a bigger player base. You see alot of people playing, that means something good is happening, so people will play. How do we get a bigger player base? yeah idk, alot of work for that

Could have 2 servers up and running at same, 1 for T3A 1 for T4A, that way old players can make new characters on T4A but still keep their old ones on T3A server, if u know what i mean? abit like wow lol

Then it would be like Trammel all over again, or whatever it was all called on the original servers.

Good that you're all thinking of ways to try and improve player numbers - but right now we're just focusing on getting the game back to a point where people WANT to log in all the time. Belg made a good point and really until we address the issue of making the game fun again, all the marketing and promoting we do will just be a waste of effort.

I like the staff idea, it should be implemented after some major patches are in place tho. I dont think extra character slots should be added. Having 5 characters adds to variation in accounts. With 7 slots most accounts would be - warrior, pvp mage, pvm mage, tank or necro, crafter, crafter, crafter. I think gains are difficult enough to make even 5 characters last quite a while. Also, as someone mentioned, there would be less trade in the game as everyone would have the crafter for that material

A far cry from everyone would actually use their crafters if they even made them. People are lazy. Having more slots may give more room to play around with different combinations of pvp characters without having to blow up one you already have. Maybe more people would try out necromancers or other races.
Most old players have all 5 slots filled. What motivation do they have to erase a complete character to try a new one? Zilch.

you dont have to erase a char to create a new one...just a skill or two does the trick for many combos.

im pretty sure that older players just want to be able to use the builds that they had planned for when they started playing the game in the first place...

Alright, my $.02 then continue discussion.

The staff :

i refuse to hire more till we have a bigger playerbase. Right now any possible staff would reduce our already low playerbase, and would have almost no gain. Most of the work that needs doing is mine and broadband's department and echo handles the in-game stuff fairly fast. Most pages are within 24-48 hours resolution.

As for more events, if you logon just for events, you're waiting for other people to make your fun rather than finding ways to have fun on your own or helping develop the shard. There are multiple quests running and i have seen VERY FEW player-run events, of which we usedto have several. There are tons of things you can do without staff intervention. I didn't go throuhg the work of fixing the jehlom and haven pits for nothing, among other things. Likewise the lycaeum quest is something you can do as a player to help develop for the shard and earn some gold while you're doing it.

So yeah, Until we're recruiting, we lack a concrete reason for more staff beside the always present and completely bullcrap reason of "it'll bring players in". People don't login because more staff is on, people login because they want to play. If the game is not in a condition where they want to login sans events, then there's still work to be done.

If you're bored, shoot me a pm, i'll give you something to do if you really want to help the shard. There's lots you can do without being staff.

The extra slots:

While it sounds like a lot of fun, the shard and all subsets are currently balanced to a 5 character account. HOWEVER, I am open to the idea of maybe having a 6th character slot that is deleted every 2 months or so? That way people can experiment with stuff or help out on newer characters. Just a thought, discuss on ideas or alterations to it as you see fit. But as for a permanent 6th or 7th slot i think it will have minimal gain of players while greatly impacting the shard economy and interactions in a negative way as people becom e entirely self sufficient.

I really like the auto deleted slot idea. It would be great for players who have already finished most of their chars and who just wanna play around and help the noobs maybe.

But yeah, we just seriously needs more players.
