Hi everyone!

It's been a while since you've heard much from me, but it's been playing on my mind that the forum layout had become a little cluttered. Over the years we've added sections, and I've made a few tweaks here and there, but I felt it was about time we organised everything in a more sensible way.

So, instead of having a wall of 10-15 forums to sift through, everything has now been organised into sections and there have been a few unnecessary items pruned - pending some further staff discussion.

I hope you like the new forum layout, and that is is now easier for you to browse. However, if there is anything that does not seem intuitive to you please feel free to leave me some feedback below.

In the next few months, we will also be reviewing the moderator/staff recruitment process and I will be looking to recruit new moderators to oversee the new sections. For those of you that remember, becoming a moderator is the first step on the ladder to becoming in-game Obsidian Staff. It allows us to assess your temperament, commitment and ability in dealing with players.

I hope you're all as excited as I am to see the ongoing development work from GM Bob and Broadband, and I look forward to seeing Obsidian continue to go from strength to strength.

Kind regards,

GM Thassius

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I originally had Buying and Selling in Gameplay, but Bob felt it was better in General so we compromised on that. I'm not sure it fits in 'community' as it is more directly game-related - I think having it in General is a good compromise. If anything it means it is near the top which should encourage people to use it more.

I wanted to keep bugs and technical issues together under a help and support section to keep them firmly away from 'Suggestions'. It's true that bugs and technical issues are 'gameplay related', but I felt it best to keep them under a separate section so it is easier for staff to spot and fix problems separate from general comments and suggestions.

Anything else you can think of, please let me know.

lol :)

these changes are as much for anticipated new users to the forums as they are for existing players who just look at the latest updates.

Everything looks great.

I have to agree with Drizzt though, I usually did the same thing in the old version.
