 Post subject: obs style runic tools

i was thinking of how some ppl want to change for new stuff, and i dont like most of those ideas...but i thought of making something with an obs twist.

first off certain monsters may drop runic tools,hammer, tinkerer, fletcher..etc. but i was thinking that they would have a small chance to create a gm weapon that had obs wep abilitys. like you could create a gm halbred of lightning, but it wouldnt be as powerful as one found on drops like maybe max str was = to might or force if gm crafted. add another kicker, you would have to have a corosponding orb from a shrine to make it happen in your back pack. prolly needs some tweaking but i liked the idea.

this would get ppl hunting more, add to crafting a bit...all around winner in my eyes.

what do you think?

I think something absolutely has to be done to keep people hunting. Hunting is the backbone of this game, and right now it sucks.

This might do the trick.

Sounds fun...there are many ways to do something like that.

Perhaps make Obsidian ore available but only in dungeons. Or have Obsidian Gemstones that can be mined or won as drops....have those to make into buffed weps or rings etc to add a few skill or stat points. Wouldn't need new graphics or anything...just change the color of the item once crafted and consume the gems from the pack.
I dunno...there could be some fun stuff done sometime when all the important crafting patches etc are done...and pvp tweaking if need be.

As for hunting...it isnt that bad...just kinda crappy wep drops...never got a power even yet and I dont think I got a magic one with attributes like fire or lightning. That would get me out more.
What would also get me out more is the absence of riddles to enter dungeons...annoying.

How about making stat gains not so abundant, its silly because Warriors and mages gain int and dex like crazy because its at 1, so Bob tells us that we should keep at 20 and things should be good,but then we have a useless 20 stat because we cant learn magery because then are int would rocket up to 100, so basically, any pvp mage and pvp warrior gets screwed over. Make it so you cant overcap if a stat that you gain is under 10 or something.

sounds fun, should the abilities be pre-determined or random?

I think random would be a bit more crazy.
Esp if one of the benefits is the "durable" mod. :)

i think echos idea was that they came out unided. which i liked ,but would be harder to add in the orbs.

or we could make it even harder, where you would need to get a runic hammer(blacksmithing), then also get another component off a.. say a shadow, like an essence of some sort , to add to the magical properties, then you need the orb to color it a certain way, so you would be able to choose slightly which way the wep went. like ice orb could turn into anything blue or white colored(lightning, rez, mana). and so on. that was echos idea too
