After having tested it out for multiple jaunts around the shard, i have found that it is mor a 25% chance to fail than a 10% chance to fail. Your numbers may say it's 10%, but that's not quite what is happening. I have not casted 5 spells in a row without getting a 10% chance to fail message.
Please look at the numbers, and then please test it, a few times, as for 7 points in armor over mithril, silver is not worth the bits they are encrypted upon.
And as poorly as it does in armor, and as harsh as it is on spell failure. It should be more common.

exactly fizzling recall in my silver chest plate makes no sense to me. Drop it to 0% and stop with all the catch 22 penalties please thank you Gm Bob....

I already made a thread like this before tho. I think bobs response was that it would unbalance it since the armor already gives alot of AR compared to Mith

...and to the person who puts in the hard work to not only train high enough to mine and smith a set plus the hefty amount of time it takes to gather enough resources for one, they deserve the extra AR. Drop it to 0% fail rate please and thank you.

now the only reason i can think of for it not mattering is that the ores main use might have been for some other crafting use where it would be sweet, and maybe it wasnt supposed to have much use for armor at all...just saying. my crafters cant make much yet so i cant check this

The HUGE armor bonus compared to myth is 7 points. If it was as common as myth to mine, i could see it only giving 7 more points with the chance of spell failure. But it is not as common as myth, it's about as common as blackrock, maybe a lil more so, but not much.
As far as armor goes, the silver is garbage in its current state. If it remains in that state, i don't see it being a valued commodity. If that was its intent when implemented, kudos. What i read of the posts it wasn't supposed to be worthless, but it is.

Yeah Vesca...pretty much. Silver is pretty darned rare and the colour is ugly too lol. More luster to it would be nice and make it more useful.

Silver weapons against undead, yes, as to players I do not know.

Unless it has been changed from when BB originally scripted it. I read the change logs but forget some of the changes sometimes.
