Dude I've been slowly building on a shard for like 6 years now. Still not done with the whole custom map. That shit is a LOT of work. Also, to make things "oldschool" is a MAJOR pain in the ass these days because all current and stable source code both RunUO and Sphere is geared towards supported post-ren age stuff that has been patched and updated thousands of times since then.

Not trying to be a jerk about it. It's just a lot easier said than done.

It probably would be a pain in the ass, but unless account creation gets activated, and some staff gets put in place (which is obviously a million times easier, and a better solution) it seems like the only choice, and it would get things going again.

Without players, its just collecting gold, grinding up skills for no purpose and no advantage.

Personally I wouldn't bother with attempting to make my own Shard, the amount of work involved would be tremendous - from physically creating the thing to promoting it. From what I've seen a lot of us don't have the time to get on here to play, never mind to make/create/maintain a shard.

For activity my approach is to play other shards as well as Obs (although this will always be home).

I'm happy just to wait and see what happens here - playing as and when I can
