I agree, moongates need to be changed. I use to use them on my warrior all the time to travel around, now I can't remember the last time I've used one.
I believe the whole idea behind this new gate is so people can't follow others inside to PK them. But it shouldn't suit noobs, if they're brave enough to be outside then it's their fault.

Actually the reverse is true. The old moongates used to function as a random spit out point. The new moongates send everyone to the same place. It was changed because PKers were sick of people running into the moongates to escape them.
Any suggestions?

I suggest a menu to choose the area you want to travel to.

Yea the way they are now is pretty much useless. They used to be a pretty good means of travel for chars that don't have magic.

I'm open to suggestions on how they operate. Bear in mind that the reason they were changed from the old moongates was to prevent people using them as an escape from a pker.

I used the in-game .stopwatch command and saw that moongates take 2.5 minutes to switch locations. Maybe adjusting their timer to be somewhere around 10-30 seconds? That should make them a little more usable and keep them from being an insta getaway from pker's.
