Warhammer 40.000 is a wargame played with miniature figures on a table...You can create entire landscapes on the table for your soldiers to war in or you can simply drop a few cups and pencilcases on it to simulate obstructions you have to go around, to be able to shoot each other...It has a huge fan base and is played around the world for fun and in competition...
You take turns attacking and roll dice to see how well yor men hits the enemy...It's all very strategic (imagine warcraft in a turn-by-turn game rather than realtime)
Warhammer: Dawn of War is a free beta version of the game, which allows you to try playing Eldars, Space Marines, Orcs and Chaos units against each other in real time...I found it quite fun because I know the units from playing the game, but it was sooo easy to play...For realtime strat fans I dunno if it's gonna be any kind of a challange, but still, so far it's just beta...
