ive bearly been playing on this server for 2months so i shouldnt voice too much, all i would say (given my experience as a GM on EQ for just over 2years) is

it takes more than game experience to be a sucessful GM you need the following qualities:

a) Neutrality: that is complete lack of favourotism towards any person due to race/gender/guild orientation. Players will sniff you out quicker than a bag of turd if a GM seems to be showing favourtism to certain ppl

b) Patience: Seeing a Gm act on impulse or before they have fully listened to both sides of an argument really pisses ppl off, and im sorry to say that some of the current Councies/GM's are guilty of this. Im not naming names and im not bitching because i know they all do as much as they can and they are only human

c) Conviction: Gotta have the willpower to make a choice that may not be popular because you know it to be correct. Being a GM does not mean being everyones friend (trying to do this will simply make your head implode)

d) Humility: Dont go thinking that just because your a Councie/GM you have the right to treat everyone as sub-human. You couldnt be further from the truth, you there to uphold rules and provide guidance to show people how good this shard is, your not there to go on a power trip and spoil the fun of other people. Yet again i have to mention i was shamed when i saw a Councie using such languge as "Fking Spanish they are invading my shard", before you ask im not naming names.

Compare yourself to all these points and can you honestly answer yes to them? if so you have my vote, even if your a cheapass Pking buttmuncha i dont care because your in it for the good of the people!

Feel free to call this bullshit as i say ive onyl been here a few months so dont take what i say too seriously.

been gm takes alot and although these may be harsh qualifications they are very true indeed... one must have these and many more qualifications if they are to be a good gm or staff member...

Lucifer is exactly right, and if anything those qualifications are a little lenient. Staff should be model citizens, note I say should, because 90% of the time it doesn't happen. However, a good portion of our current staff are trying thier best. You want an example of what staff should be? Look at Jorus, he's a good example, he has his flaws but he's still a good example. Most people think he's evil and not nice, but he's one of the most impartial staff on the shard, and always treats people with respect.
No staff is perfect, but our higher level staff come near close.

The only person that I would vote for is Elleby or Shooter since both of em are nice and have been around for a long time and they are really reallu helpful...for the rest I dont think that they can handle such a job yet due to some reasons thats wat I think....
