 Post subject: New house.. REMOVED
PostPosted: Sun Nov 28, 2004 10:13 pm
Hi.

Just put money together with Bruiser and Wulfgar to get a brand new wiz tower... only to find it GONE after a few days...

Can anyone shed some light on this as it had a helluva lot of items inside and there is NO messages or the like to say why it has been removed.

It was placed in an illegal area and was moved.

Give me where it says in the rules that Sherwood is an Illegal place

It doesn't

I've had it with the bullshit about certain people being allowed to do certain things and others not, certain people allowed to be in certain places and others not..

If people aren't allowed in a certain place THEN HAVE IT DOCUMENTED...

Avatar, even if it doesn't say in the rules that sherwood is off limits, you still aren't allowed to place houses in towns without GM permission, and guess what, sherwood is a town. :)

And anyway, clause in the rules states specifically, "Jorus, Blinkers, and Broadband may at any time declare something illegal. The reverse is also true. Thier rullings supercede anything written on this page, so do not try to exploit the wording of these rules."

Your house would not have been moved if that area was open to public use.

Now onto your slander,

Lets see, first off the reason it's not documented is because IT CONSTANTLY CHANGES, and surely there would be ones missed, that's why the staff defers to players to use thier judgement, just like in the rules against certain language and actions. It's a waste of space to put all possible words/actions someone could do, because people will always think of new ones and then say "well they aren't in the rules." That is why there is a grey area clause. If there is any doubt in your mind whether somethign is legal, ask a gm or higher.

You would THINK the closed gates and the walled off portals would have been a hint not to be in that area.

Secondly,

Exactly what are you trying to say? If you have something to say then say it clearly. I was in sherwood because I was helping blinkers plan for the christmas suprises for this year, like the trees you'll find setup in cove and other areas of the shard, and discussing what else needed the be done to sherwood before it can be re-opened, then i had to go AFK to deal with a real-life crisis and by the time i came back i saw you in the area. Heaven forbid a player actually tries to help the shard, i know many who do, and it does the shard a world of good. The staff can't do it alone.

14. Player houses, castles, tents, towers etc.. must be placed at least 2 steps away from a pathway or entrance to a public area. And no items may be locked down outside the house if they go inside the 2 step limit. Any house placed that does not follow these guidelines are subject to deletion along with items inside.

I asked if it was illegal... guess what, no-one could give me an answer. The house was placed outside of the guarded area, I asked the older players and the seer who was on at the time if it was a legal placement and again, no solid yes or no.

Err.. no, that's like saying.. You're not allowed in Fire dungeon cos we walled off the entrance from Serpents Hold, yet I can guarantee half of the shard has runes to there, same as people having runes to Sherwood. I know many people who have runes there, and have had them for many many months.

Slander?

1. Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone.

I think YOU need to read a dictionary sometime.

Tbh, I couldn't really care less what you were doing inside Sherwood, even less that you had a real life crisis, guess what.. everyone has them. I lost my job a week ago big deal!

My point being.. There is a distinct line on what your regular joe player seemingly can or can not do. And yet, others who are "favoured" can apparently do more.

Furthermore, it was nice to have been forewarned about my house being moved.. yes that was sarcasm if you didn't realise. It's been put in such a nice location, you can't even enter it.

Thanks.

emmm.......my new house, the new mining house.

Sherwood maybe once was a town, now, all it seems to be is a quiet guarded area like the old entrance to despise. Its been that way ever since i started, i could barely imagine uttering that this was a town.

but i can see there may have been a few things ppl dislked about our placement there, thats why we tried to secure the go-ahead as we where placing it.

but, i thought anyway, maybe the current resident witha tower there ( damn that bitch decayed, ah well :( ) would maybe like some company? just a thought.

dunno where house now is, dont want it no more tbh, it was in a location so all 3 of our miners could use and mine in safety,

Sherwood is offlimits for players as of right now. Yea players can get there but whats the point of going there because there is nothing there at all? Did you goto haven through the rune chamber? No? Well if you have you would have noticed you would be in a gated box with a portal leading out. If you say you were waiting for word on if you were allowed to place a house there or not why couldnt you wait longer? I am sorry for that a staff member moved your house. If you page an admin will help you make your abode into a deed if you wish. Sherwood has gone through many changes in its lifetime and staff have yet to find a stable state for this "CITY".

Thank you for the reply Jorus.. Nicer and more succinct than the previous replies.

I *should* be on most of the day if you could give me a hand moving it.

im a stop being angry now ;(

it woulda been nice of notification tho, at least i had very little in my chest as i hadnt moved in proper, and had only lightly furnished my level, but ava had tonnes of fish and armour and no doubt regs and weapons too. i hope these arent lost, it would be another case of bruiser's disapearing houses but this time my buddies lose out too :(

and i cant see the house anywhere, has it been made a deed already?
