i read somewhere about a patch dumbing down monsters a bit with their attacks and i wanted to know if it was applied yet...
I was wondering about this because of something that just occured to me.
let me tell you my little story:

i was bored and I wanted to try a new place to hunt, so i remembered that shame had been newly spawned, so i went for a nice solo hunt, i wanted to start off easy so i fought a fire elemental, no big deal right?
i was probably fighting the stupid thing for half an hour when i left...why? because it was almost like the damn monster was toying with me, the fire elemental never bothered to attack me, it just stood there getting wacked, then, everytime it was about to die, it backed up a square and casted reactive armor, protection and it healed all one after the other. It did this repeatedly for the half hour that i fought it and it was difficult to damage him, even with a gm crafted battle axe (go ahead, laugh at me
:( )

so was this patch applied?

ya i have given up on alot of solo pvm just because the damn things are nearly unkillable, and it can be a huge waste of time aids arrows etc for a big load of 487 gp. It kinda pisses me off sometimes. I can take liches out real easy sometimes and sometimes the damn things just refuse to die

try an orc mage for fun all they do is curse you and mana drain heal and cast RA as soon as you hit them, even at 110 str it took me over half an hour to kill one of those green orc mage that looks like orc capt because as soon as i could score even little damage it was healing, apart that it was fighting like a non mage orc in meelee and never casting any offensive spells

I believe the patch has not been implemented as the monsters seem as tough to me as forever.

When soloing deamons on avatar with a warrior I usually take 15-20 mins. And since its so slogged with roots and trees getting stuck is highly likely making it very easy to die to its melle hits. Whenever figting them I imediately throw a poison potion on it to stop its heal, and it also does a do a little damage to the deamon aswell.

I hope the reactive and such is removed, also the self healing of big monsters.

A little suggestion I have. Currently you can get 2 caps from ettins and ogres etc, and these are easy to kill since they have no magic. But Gargoyles which are much harder because of reactive, healing etc only carry 1 deamon bone. Maybe it could be made to drop 2 bones to make it fairer on warriors.

Regular Orcs arent affected by this, you are probably just too new to handle them.

for a moment i did though normal orcs had gotten way stronger but then i noticed i had forgotten to put a gorget then all was solved it only adds like 2 to AR but damn the difference is obvious as hell in battle its like dropping from 72 to 52 just cause you dont have it, thats how i felt really

Use a heavy crossbow of vanq and stop whinging. That b.itch hits way harder than a vanq ba and cuts through reactive like a hot turd in the snow.

no one wants to waste a vanq on killing an elemental tho.. lol
oh and drizzet.. BA is the most penetrating wepon for swords.. and it wont go threw npc monsters reactive.. the other big stuff.. does more dmg on its.. but doesn't pentrate for crap.. and i think that needs work.. like birdiches and such.. they should penetrate more...

against annohter player with reactive... a gm ba will do just fine... monsters on other hand.... is like hitting a stone wall with wet noodle... lol.. i have fought the ettin lord so many dtimes... some tiems.. it goes out fast.. other tiems.... when it casts reactive.. its unstopable....... even tho i am not smart enuff to give up and quit and come back after it wears off... i just keep setting there and wackin' it.. ya but pretty much... reactive isnt worth the time on monsters... unless u can shoot it from a distance or somethign...
