What would staff think of hosting a banner contest?

The banner would be an advertisement for Obsidian. It would need to include what Obsidian is(Ultima Online) and the site address(Obsidianshard.com)

Whoever's banner is chosen wins a prize of some sort. Then that banner file is made available to players to use as signatures in other forums etc.

We need to get the word out in any possible way. This could be a good way to get the Obsidian name to be recognized easier.

Staff have any feedback on this?

I think it's a nifty idea - but I don't think I'd like the banners to be used for signatures here on the forums. (I prefer almost no sig since there are people out there who have limited download capacity and this just chews up download space)

But I think it's a wonderful idea - when the recruiting call to arms happens or rather just before: we'll look into hosting one.

Cool. Of course there is no need to advertise on this site...they are already here lol. I would hope people would stick to the normal stuff around here...mess up other ppls forums

I think this could work, Im useless at designing things so couldnt take part but another idea once we do start recruiting we could all just post a little something on our facebooks... Between us we must all have well over 1000 friends? Surely that has to get us some players!!!

I do not use facepalmbook.

Its a good idea. Echo raised a good point; but we could easily just put a file size limit to the competition and specify pixel dimensions. That way anyone could use the new sig without overloadin ur interwebz.

...in fact, ill do this now. nothin to stop us making the sig in advance of any recruitment drive. ill discuss rules with the other stafff and then announce. watch this space.
